NextGen Coordinator of Kids Ministry & Music
Definition & Summary of Position:
The NextGen Coordinator of Kids Ministry & Music provides support, leadership, development, and direction for the Kids Ministry & Music at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church for Kinder through 6th grade.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the NextGen Coordinator of Kids Ministry & Music include:

Provide support, leadership, direction, training, and oversight for all Kids Ministry volunteers in ages Kinder through 6th grade.

Provide leadership and oversight for all Kids Ministries (Kinder through 6th grade) including
-
Sunday School, Kids Choirs, Vacation Bible School, Wednesday and other weekday ministries, Mission education, special events, camps, etc.

Provide Staff support for Music and Me Ministry Preschool Outreach.

Work with staff to review, purchase, and oversee all curriculum for Kids Ministries (Kinder through 6th grade).

Recruit, train, pray for, and involve new Kids Ministry volunteers (Kinder through 6th grade).

Create and effectively manage Kids Ministry budget with direction from the Executive Pastor and/or Finance Committee.

Develop and maintain safe, clean, attractive childhood learning environments.

Communicate consistently with parents of Kinder through 6th grade as well as provide tools they need for spiritual leadership.

Encourage and equip parents to develop a biblical worldview in their Kids and growing family spiritual health..

Oversee Kids Ministry section of the church website.

Participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences as needed.

Work closely with the YouthMinister to assure smooth transition of students to youth ministry.

Ensure all volunteers in Kids Ministry areas have received background check and training as related to Child Protection Policy for Kids Ministry.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Have 3-5 years’ experience in Kid’s Ministries and a passion for ministry.

Have a personal, daily relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by action, attitude, and behavior and willing to become a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church.

Have an educational background in Christian Ministries, Biblical Studies, or a related field (preferred).

Be reliable, take initiative, self-motivated. Use appropriate judgment in the areas of discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.

Employee Classification:

Non-Exempt, Hourly (25 hours per week), Supporting Staff
Work Hours:
-
Limited to 25 hours per week unless pre-approved. No overtime unless pre-approved.

Sundays and Wednesdays are required workdays. One Sunday per quarter may be taken off with prior approval.

Typical weekly schedule will be negotiated prior to start date.
