Joining a group.

Plug in . . .

It’s not easy to find a group of people who accept you as you are, yet who want to help you to become all you were meant to be in Christ.  The adult groups at Thalia Lynn—some large, some small and some in-between—are all set up to be just that way and you are invited and encouraged to find a group that is just right for you.   These groups cover all seasons of life and meet at various times during the week.  Check out the listing below and plug in to a group today!

Groups for Married Couples

There are many groups for husbands and wives, with most of them meeting on Sunday mornings.  While it is true that these groups are made up chiefly of married couples, any adult may choose to join any of the groups, and many choose to do so.  The groups are built around Bible study and fellowship and meet from 9:30-10:45 AM in designated classrooms throughout the church building.  Similar groups meet at church on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30, while still others meet at various times in homes.

College-age Singles Group

This group, called Kairos, meets for Bible study and fellowship on Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45.  In addition, there are social gatherings planned for various times and at different locations throughout the year.

Men’s Groups

Currently there are two men’s groups that meet at the church.  One is a small Bible study group called the Fishermen which meets on Sundays from 9:45-10:45 AM.  The other is a larger group called Knights of the 21st Century (K-21).  Our K-21 Chapter meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 for a snack dinner, video presentation and group discussions that focus on issues pertinent to men.

Women’s Groups

There are two ongoing women’s Bible study groups that meet at the church.  The Sunday morning group is called the FaithSeekers and is comprised of senior women who gather for an hour of fellowship and learning starting at 9:45.  On Wednesday afternoons a group called Women of the Word meet together from 1:30-2:30 for topical Bible study and discussion.  Additional groups, programs and special opportunities for women are listed and explained under Women Ministries.

Special Needs Group

Thalia Lynn Baptist Church is somewhat unique in that it has a group of special needs adults who gather weekly for Bible study and fellowship.  Called the 100% Love Group, these men and women meet at the church from 9:45-10:45 every Sunday morning.

Starting Point Groups

These are small, conversation-based groups that meet at the church on a periodic basis for the purpose of discussing questions related to such things what it means to be a Christian, understanding church membership, growing as a follower of Christ and other faith-related issues.  The number of weeks spent on a particular topic can be anywhere from one to eight, depending on individual needs.  Each Starting Point session is about an hour in length.
